Bio:
Dr. Ronnal Ford is a unique and versatile musician, celebrated for his remarkable talents as an oboist, woodwind specialist, string specialist, and dedicated educator. He has left an undeniable impact on the music community through contributions to various orchestras, his commitment to teaching, and his versatile approach to performance.
Dr. Ford’s artistic abilities led him to secure positions in several orchestras. He is the principal oboist in the Colour of Music Festival and the second oboist, English hornist and saxophonist in the Fayetteville Symphony Orchestra. These two ensembles have featured him as a soloist, allowing him the ability to not only showcase his technical prowess but also his ability to infuse emotion and depth into his performances. He has also been a member of both the strings and woodwind sections of the Illharmonic Orchestra, and with them has been performing across the United States. Dr. Ford has also been featured on several jazz performances as the front man for the FSO Jazz Quartet. Additionally, he is a founding member of Quintet Sirocco, the award earning reed quintet that has been featured at the Savvy Musician Conference and ClarinetFest
2019 and 2020.
Dr. Ford's passion for music education led him to the Assistant Professor of Music position at Guilford Technical Community College, where he teaches woodwinds and strings, and an Adjunct Professor of Woodwinds at North Carolina Agricultural and Technical State University. He has previously taught at the UNC School of the Arts, Winston Salem State University, and Forsyth Technical Community College
